There is pedestrian and cycling access through the new Melling interchange to the Western Hills. And there'll be a pedestrian crossing (with signals) through the interchange, on the same level as the road/path/intersection. This means you'll have to stop for traffic for a short while, but there'll be no conflict with high-speed State Highway 2 through traffic.

This is safer than the current interchange where there are multiple conflicts.
