Yes, it will be easier than the current interchange. 

The State Highway 2 (SH2) main through traffic and Western Hills traffic (that include cyclists and pedestrians) will be separated at grade by a bridge overpass. From this interchange bridge you'll be able to access the new Melling Bridge to Te Awa Kairangi ki Tai - Lower Hutt from Harbour View Road and Tirohanga Road. 

There will be North and South facing on and off ramps from the main highway to get on and off SH2 at Melling.  These new ramps will intersect with the new interchange bridge at intersections with traffic lights.
