How rivers are managed has changed significantly over recent years. The project's river work has been designed to allow it to flow naturally within certain boundaries. We will widen the riverbed, create instream habitat features, and plant more native plants. All these 'design' features will maintain the ecological health of Te Awa Kairangi - Hutt River. This work all aligns with the recent maintenance consents Greater Wellington obtained for the management of Te Awa Kairangi - Hutt River as a whole.
